Play: “It’s time”

-Es ist Zeit-
A play about biography, memory and human responsibility. With Sigrid Kleinsorge and Frauke Oberländer. Two women from two generations meet on stage – and with them a whole life.
The play “Es ist Zeit” is a biographical evening, based on the life experience of an 85-
year-old author from Karlsruhe, who herself performs on stage. Together with a younger
actress, the life story of a woman whose memories span the period from the
1940s to the present day unfolds.
Based on a current borderline situation – a stay in the emergency room – a
inner space of memory opens up. Experiences of childhood, maturity and old age, of vulnerability and resistance,
of experiences of violence and inner growth combine to create a multi-layered review of life.
The play understands memory not as a retrospective, but as a conscious process: as an opportunity to
transform the past and take responsibility for the present.
“It’s time” poses questions about the finite nature of life, about dealing with history and about
the role of people in times of social upheaval. It invites us to view biography as a
path of development and to reflect on our own relationship to time, conscience and shared responsibility at
.
A haunting evening of theater that opens up space for reflection and discussion.
